Berry Qualifies Seventh at Texas

Josh Berry and the No. 21 Würth Ford Mustang are set to start seventh in Sunday’s Würth 400 Presented by LIQUI MOLY at Texas Motor Speedway after a strong showing in Saturday’s qualifying session.

Berry secured the seventh starting spot with a fast lap of 191.266 mph around the 1.5-mile oval. It marks his sixth top-10 qualifying effort in 11 attempts so far this season.

Earlier in the day, the No. 21 team showed promising speed in practice as well. Berry ranked sixth on the speed chart with a best lap of 189.827 mph, which came on his second of 34 laps in the session.

“It has been a good day,” Berry said. “I thought our car was pretty solid in practice, and I felt good about the qualifying lap. It’s so high-commitment here that it’s hard to tell if you left just a little bit out there—it’s always so close.

“All in all, it’s a good starting spot for tomorrow, and I’m excited to get out there and get racing.”

Sunday’s 267-lap, 400-mile race is scheduled to begin just after 3:30 p.m. ET, with TV coverage on FS1. Stage breaks are planned for Laps 80 and 165.
