Harrison Burton and the No. 21 Freightliner Mustang Dark Horse are set to start 33rd in Sunday’s Go Bowling at the Glen at Watkins Glen International, the road course in upstate New York.
Burton took that spot with an average speed of 120.568 miles per hour around the seven-turn, 2.45-mile track during qualifying on Saturday afternoon.
He was 22nd best among drivers who ran 10 consecutive laps in practice, averaging 119.501 mph on his first 10 laps.
Sunday’s 90-lap, 220.5-mile race is the second of three in the opening round of the Playoffs. Burton enters the race in 14th place in the points standings.
The race is expected to get the green flag just after 3 p.m.Stage breaks are planned for Laps 20 and 40.
